Celebrating 25 years of Antiquing Bliss
Charles Haviland & Co. Limoges "Silver Anniversary" Round Covered Vegetable Tureen - Schleiger #19 - image 1 of 5

The Haviland Company was organized in 1853 in Limoges, France, by David Haviland, a New York china importer. After the civil war, his son, Charles, took over management of the firm. The "Silver Anniversary" pattern was produced from 1903 - 1931. A simple, yet elegant pattern of white with gold trim it was one of the most popular and collected patterns in the history of Haviland china. Known as Schleiger #19, it is sometimes referred to as Silver.

This lovely vegetable tureen measures 8" across, 10 1/2" from handle-to-handle and 4 1/2" in height. The company mark, in green, "Haviland France", circa 1894-1931; the decorator mark, in red, "Haviland & Co. - Limoges", circa 1889-1931. There are no cracks, chips or repairs, some minor gold wear consistent with use. More items of this pattern are in my store.
