Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or small home studio environment. This lovely sugar, creamer and salt/pepper set was skillfully decorated in a home studio, circa 1915, with pieces signed "Parkhurst" by the artist. The old adage "less is more" is especially true with this simple, yet timeless, one-of-a-kind, "Shamrock" motif. The artful use of three and groups of three is repeated on each item. The motif consists of groups of three pastel green shamrocks, outlined in gold; individual gold shamrocks outlined in black; all with wide gold borders and handles outlined in black.
The sugar measures 3 3/4" in width, 6 3/4" from handle-to-handle and 3 1/2" in height; the creamer measures 3" in width, 5 1/2" in length and 2 5/8" in height. This set is stamped "JPL France. The salt and pepper are 3" in height and are stamped "Favorite Bavaria". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; very minor gold wear.
