Hand painted porcelain is so beautiful no matter if executed in a factory decorating department, professional studio or small home studio environment. This lovely Bavaria covered vegetable tureen was skillfully decorated in a home studio, circa 1915, and signed "Parkhurst" by the artist. The old adage "less is more" is especially true with this simple, yet timeless, one-of-a-kind, "Shamrock" motif. The artful use of three and groups of three is repeated on the piece. The motif consists of groups of three pastel green shamrocks, outlined in gold; individual gold shamrocks, outlined in black; a wide gold border and handles edged in black.
The tureen measures 7 3/4" across; 10" from handle-to-handle and 4" in height. It is stamped "UNO Favorite Bavaria". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; very minor gold wear. There are other items of this pattern in my store to build the service of your choice.
