Hand painted porcelain expresses the emotional connection between the artist and subject. This lovely set of 4 hand painted cabinet plates shows the artist's passion and understanding of beautiful floral arrangements and presentation. Executed in a small home-studio environment, circa 1900-1920, they are done on unmarked porcelain blanks and unsigned by the artist.
Each of the plates represent a different floral motif, pastel colored daisies, red-orange poppies, crimson roses and deep blue bachelor buttons. The plates are decorated with bands of complementary pastel shades and delicate gold scrolls separating the bands as well as a narrow gold rim on the gently scalloped plates measuring 8 3/8" in diameter. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Also available in my store are another set of 4 and a set of 2 in different floral motifs by the same artist and on matching porcelain blanks as this set. Simply lovely.
