Walter Lenox and Jonathan Cox founded the Ceramic Art Company (CAC), in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1889. When Cox left the company in 1906, the name was changed to Lenox, Inc. Known for producing high quality table-ware and gift-ware. In 1981, the company founded Lenox Collections offering exquisite bisque porcelain sculptures and decorative accents.
This lovely pin-tail duck is from the Collections series. This pin-tail duck, issued in 1993, is one of three duck sculptures I have in my store. The magnificent details are matt painted in medium and light brown, gray, gray-brown, blue, black and white. The sculpture depicts the duck coming in for a landing on a crystal blue marsh with green foliage, lily pads and white water lily flower. The figure is 4 3/4" in height and 4 1/2" in length. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; original box is unavailable.
