Depression Era Clear Glass Pair of Candle Holders with Hand-Painted "Azalea" Floral Motif
A scarce depression glass era pair of candle holders that were produced for a short period of time, 1930-1933, to compliment the popular "Azalea" pattern china produced for the Larkin Soap Company by the Noritake China Company from 1916 through the 1930's.
This is a wonderful pair of candle holders, Larkin #114. Produced in clear glass, the holders have a frosted-white coating the the underside of the items. On the top of the bases they are decorated with a motif of large, deep pink, hand-painted Azalea blossoms and buds accented with shaded green and blue-green leaves. The edges are highlighted and trimmed with gold gilt. The candle holders measure 3 3/4" in height and 4 3/4" across the base. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or enamel wear. This item is considered rather rare.
