The "RS" is derived from the founder, Reinhold Schlegelmilch, but it was the work of his sons, Arnold and Ehrhard that made the mark famous. With factories in Suhl and Tillowitz, a majority of their production was exported from 1892 until the beginning of World War I. The Suhl factory closed before the end of World War I; the Tillowitz factory remained operational until the beginning of World War II.
This lovely plate is decorated with two large shaded pink lily flowers on long, slender stems and leaves surrounding the plate. The leaves and background are blended shades of muted olive green to pale creamy yellow. The green mark is the wreath and "R.S. Germany". The plate measures 8 1/4" across and has a narrow gold edge. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
