A wonderful combination advertising/souvenir plate from Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1930's. The transfer motif of the plate consists of a group of baby birds perched on leave laden branches, replicas of Indian Head coins and quotes of the era. On the reverse it indicated from whom the plate was compliments of.
The transfer color is shaded blue-green which is similar to the color used by the Buffalo Pottery, however, there is no manufacturers mark on this plate. The quotes are "Home Sweet Home" and "A Little Money On A Big Bill". The reverse reads "Compliments of The Home Furniture and Carpet Co. - Southeast corner Alabama & Washington Sts. - Indianapolis". The plate measures 7 3/8" across and has no cracks, chips or repairs. A great subject matter and advertising piece.
