A fabulous hand painted charger. Limoges blank manufactured by Paroutaud Freres Limoges porcelain factory. It is stamped "LaSeymie Limoges - P & P France", circa 1903-1919. Marketed by Blakeman & Henderson, importers of Limoges porcelains into the United States. They commissioned the decorating, which was always of very high quality. It is stamped "Limoges - B & H - France", circa 1890-early 1900's.
The motif is a single flying mallard duck, expertly executed in shades of blue, russet, brown and white. Along the bottom rim is a floral display of daisies and foliage. The background is muted shades of pastel blue and green. The coup-style charger measures 12 1/2" across with a simple gold rim. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; several minor paint rubs near the outer edge.
