Founded in 1775, Royal Copenhagen is one of the world's oldest companies and for more than 235 years has produced products with the deepest respect for tradition and highest standards of craftsmanship. The first Christmas plate appeared in 1895 and are still being made today.
This wonderful cobalt blue 1965 Christmas plate in entitled "Little Skaters" and depicts two young children bundled in coats, mittens and caps skating on a frozen pond. The background is a picture of leafless trees, snow covered ground and a house in the distance. The decorative embossed border features pine cones among needles with a shining star at the top. The plate measures 7" across and is drilled for hanging. Full marked on the reverse. There are no cracks, chips, nicks or repairs. The original box is not available. Great collector plate.
