A lovely satin glass rose bowl which shades from a rich yellow at the top to almost white at the base with white interior. Made by one of the early American glass houses, probably Mt. Washington, circa 1890. The hand-painted floral decoration was added at a later date in a home-studio environment. The bowl has a ruffled top consisting of eight ruffles decorated with brushed gold enamel. The front is adorned with a branch of four white dogwood flowers with rust color stamens; green and brown leaves. The bowl measures 5" in height and 5 1/2" across. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; some minor paint wear. Great piece to start or add to your rose bowl collection.
