The Swedish glass-works of Kosta was founded in 1742. The name was created from the surnames of the founders, Generals Koskull and Stael Von Holstein. Today's Kosta Boda was formed through a merger of Kosta, Boda and Afors.
This beautiful, deeply ribbed, five-pointed star crystal bowl was designed by Anna Ehrner who was associated with the firm from 1974-1979. The bowl is part of the "Olivia" line of crystal pieces. The bowl measures 6 7/8" across, 4 1/2" in height, 7/16" in thickness and weighs over five pounds. It is signed "Kosta - 58028 - Ehrner". There are no cracks, chips, scratches or repairs.
