Coronet Limoges is linked to porcelain ware manufactured by various European factories and decorated in Limoges, Paris and Germany before exportation overseas. George Borgfeldt was a New York importer of porcelain with decorating studios in Paris and Germany.
This wonderful portrait features a Friar Monk reading a scroll. The decoration is a combination of transfer facial & hand features and scroll with hand-painted robe and background. Artist signed 'Job'. The plate measures 10" across and is marked with the Borgfeldt "Coronet" blue mark, circa 1906-1920. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; several minor paint flakes on his robe.
