Founded in 1794 in Tettau, Bavaria, the Royal Bayreuth firm is well known for it's superior quality items. Included in this list are their Rose Tapestry pieces. The tapestry look was achieved by pressing fabric against the damp surface of the porcelain giving the textured look and feel of fabric.
This lovely clover-leaf shaped pin tray with arched ring handle is decorated with three large yellow roses with pink highlights and green leaves. The handle and edge is gold trimmed. It is stamped in blue with the #2 mark, which is the most commonly found mark; circa late 1800's to pre-World War II era. It measures 4 1/2" across and 5" handle-to-front. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Lovely and scarce.
