The Carl Tielsch Company was organized in Altwasser, Germany (Silesia) in 1845 and continued under this name until the early 1900's.
This beautiful transfer decorated bowl, circa 1890-1910, would be wonderful for serving fresh relishes and fruits. The center motif consists of three large aster blossoms in crimson, pink and yellow, surrounded by foliage in shades of green, blue, rust and gray. The bowl flows gently outward to a wide reticulated border of pale blue tinted leaves with gold daub outlines and stems. The bowl measures 12 1/4" across and 2 3/4" in height. The base carries several marks; the blue "CT" with the Eagle or Phoenix bird; green "Made In Germany" stamp and also green "7129 over 5". There are no cracks, chips or repairs. A lovely bowl for use or display.
