Haviland & Co. "Green & Pink Floral" Round, Open Serving Bowl - Schleiger #74A - image 1 of 8

An American, David Haviland, was an importer of French and English porcelains in the early to mid-1800's. In 1849 he moved his family to Limoges, France, to begin his own porcelain manufacturing and decorating factory and as a result, Haviland China, was born. Upon his death in 1879, his two sons split the company. Charles formed Haviland & Co. while Theodore formed Theodore Haviland. These items are from the Charles Haviland Co.

The pattern is Schleiger #74A, which is described as small green and pink floral. The blank #5, which is gently scalloped with a border of embossed bumps in the china. The company mark is "Haviland France" in green, circa 1894-1931. The decorator mark is "Haviland & Co. - Limoges" in red, circa 1889-1931. Some decorator marks also include "Decorated By".

This round, open serving bowl measures 9 1/2" across and 1 3/4" in depth. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or discoloration. I have additional items in this pattern in my store.
