Set of 4 Haviland & Co. Limoges "Green & Pink Floral" Larger Size Cups & Saucers - Schleiger #74A
An American, David Haviland, was an importer of French and English porcelains during the early to mid-1800's. In 1849 he moved his family to Limoges, France, to begin his own porcelain manufacturing and decorating factory and as a result, Haviland China, was born. Upon his death in 1879, his sons split the company. Charles formed Haviland & Co., while Theodore formed Theodore Haviland.
The pattern is Schleiger #74A, which is described as small green and pink floral. The blank is #5, which is gently scalloped with a border of embossed bumps in the china. The company mark is "Haviland France" in green, circa 1894-1931. The decorator mark is "Haviland & Co. - Limoges" in red, circa 1889-1931. Some decorator marks also include "Decorated By".
These cups and saucers are the larger size made for this pattern. The saucer measures 5 3/4" across and the cup measures 4" across and 2" in depth. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or discoloration. I have additional items in this pattern in my store.
