The Watt Pottery Company, Crooksville, Ohio, was incorporated in 1922 and remained in operation until a fire in 1965. In the late 1940's the company concentrated on kitchen ware and in 1949 began hand decorating its items.
This rare open sugar bowl, plus advertising item, is the Apple - 3 Leaf pattern. It stands 4 1/4" in height and 5 1/4" from handle-to-handle. The front is stenciled "Far. Co-Op Oil, Winner - Witten, Mission, S.D." Impressed on the base "98 U.S.A." There are no cracks or repairs; a glaze chip on the outer edge of the rim just above the advertising stencil (see Photos). A super sugar bowl and great advertising item.
