The country of Germany was split into East and West in 1946-1947. Thereafter until about 1990 most items for exportation were so designated.
This lovely necklace and earring set, circa 1950's or early 1960's, consists of a 3-strand necklace and earrings composed of various sizes and types of beads. There are small oval, flattened oval and round sugar coated plastic beads in shades of blue, blue-gray, rose and iridescent colors, as well as barrel and pear shaped faceted iridescent glass beads, all separated by a small light blue plastic bead. The earrings are composed of a mixture of the same components. The shortest strand of the necklace measures 11 1/2" with an extension adding 3 1/2" The earrings measure 1" across. The "Hook" fastener on the necklace is stamped "W Germany" and the earring clips "Germany". The condition is very good; very light wear marks on some glass beads. Will look great with your formal or informal attire.
