Jacob H. Stouffer was born in Adeline, Illinois. He opened his decorating studio in Chicago in 1905 which continued until 1952. The high period of Stouffer hand painted china appears to have spanned the years of 1905 to 1925. During this time the company employed some of the best decorators of that era.

This lovely hand painted cabinet plate, circa 1906-1914, is decorated with a combination of white, yellow centered, daisies and blue forget-me-not flowers, accented with shaded green foliage. The white china blank has a inter-band of yellow, edged in gold as well as the rim. The artist's initials appear on the front and are either "E.R." or "E.B." The plate measures 8 1/2" across and carries the makers mark "UNO Favorite Bavaria", which was used by C. Hutschenreuther, Germany, for the Burley & Tyrrell Co, Chicago, Illinois, an import company. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; some very minor gold wear. Beautiful Stouffer creation from it's early period.
