So many lovely hand painted items were created in small home studios during the late 1800's and early 1900's. This beautiful pair of candlesticks, circa 1920, are encircled with bunches of shaded blue cornflower blossoms with narrow green foliage and pastel pink highlights against a soft off-white background. The candle sockets are lined in gold.
The candlesticks measure 4 3/4"in height and 3 1/8" across the base. They are German china blanks, one marked "Germany" and the other "R.S. Germany". There are no cracks, chips; tiny retouched nick on top edge of one candlestick. Lovely design and detail.
