A lovely small home-studio hand painted nappie dish for nuts, candy, jams, etc. The porcelain blank was manufactured by the C & E Carstens Factory, Blankenhain, Thuringia, Germany and is stamped with the shield mark "Weimer - Germany", circa 1919 - 1945.
The teardrop shaped dish with cut handle measures 7 1/4" in length, 6" in width and 1 1/8" in depth. The interior is professionally decorated with bunches of red ripe cherries hanging from brown branches laden with shaded green leaves. The base is artist signed "Mabel Lohmann". The background is pastel cream, blue and greens with gold handle. There are no cracks, chips, enamel wear or repairs.
