An absolutely stunning portrait plate of a beautiful woman with dark hair, lovely completion, dark eyes and ruby-red lips, attired in a lilac gown with rose and green fringe with white highlights set against a shaded green and creamy yellow to white background. The border is heavily embossed scrolls with a rococo border trimmed in gold gilt. The plate is marked "Limoges France" and "L.R.L. - Limoges - France" with a crown. Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman was a decorating factory during the 1920's, known for portrait and figural works of art on porcelain. The decorating technique used was part transfer and part hand-painting. The portrait carries the signature of the artist, "E. Vettosi". The plate measures 9 1/2" across and there is one factory drilled hole in the underside rim for hanging. A partial original price label is still attached. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; some very minor wear on embossed decoration and gold trim.
