Alice Caviness began her work in the fashion industry. Like so many other fashion designers from that era, Caviness began manufacturing jewelry to compliment her fashions. Her company produced jewelery from 1945 to sometime after 1997, even though Alice died in 1983.
This lovely and life-like figural turtle brooch, circa 1950's, with gold-tone body, shining peridot rhinestone eyes and molded scarab shell, measures 1 3/4" in length and 1" in width. Marked "Alice Caviness" on an oval cartouche and with safety clasp, this brooch is near mint condition for your wearing pleasure.
