Vincent Sorrentino registered the trademark "Sorrento" in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1911 for his jewelry line. This wonderful carriage figural brooch was designed by Nicholas Barbieri and produced by the Uncas Manufacturing Company of Rhode Island in 1942. Created of plastic in a burnt orange color it portrays an early covered carriage being pulled by a single horse. The brooch measures 3 1/4" in length and 1 3/4" high. Marked Pat No 133919 which was registered on September 29, 1942. Excellent vintage condition with no cracks or chips.
