William Hobe immigrated in the United States from France in the first part of the twentieth century. The original family owned-and-operated Hobe Cie jewelry company which began in 1927 and was sold in the late 1990's or 2000. The Hobe mark is still being used today. This beautiful gold-tone and faux seed pearl brooch, circa 1950 - 1960, is composed of a branch of detailed grapes leaves, overlaid with a large bunch of grapes. It measures 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" in size and is stamped Hobe in a oval with the copyright symbol over the o. It is unclear when this mark was first used. In near mint condition for your wearing pleasure or collection.
