Consolidated Glass Co. Yellow Satin Glass Rose Bowl "Shell & Seaweed" Pattern - image 1 of 5

Satin glass derives its name from the item's velvety matt finish which is achieved through the application of an acid bath. This lovely yellow satin rose bowl, with white interior, in the shell & seaweed pattern was produced by the Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co. during the late 1890's. The glass is blown into a mold consisting of five shells separated by sprigs of seaweed and eight deep ruffled scallops around the top. The rose bowl measures 3 1/2" in height and 4 1/2" across. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; nice polished pontil on the base. A wonderful item of Victorian art glass.
