The croesus pattern was first produced by the Riverside Glass Works, Wheeling, WV, in 1897, in clear glass. It was also made by McKee Brothers Glass in 1899, in green and amethyst colored glass trimmed with gold. This wonderful spooner is from McKee. It stands 4 5/8" tall with wide, deep scrolls and sharp curls which are indicators of an original piece, not a later reproduction. The gold is in excellent condition with only some minor wear. The piece has no cracks, chips or repairs.
