A rare antique German silver novelty box shaped as a house. It is very sweet, very detailed and well made.

It is a single story house with dormer window in the front roof, shuttered windows, central front door with fan light, brick facade, tiled roof and chimney. On the back there are oval frames with photographs of the original owners of this items.

This German house was retailed by Posen. It weighs approximately 141 grams and is impressed 800 Posen with German crescent and crown. It is 3 inches wide, 2 inches high and deep.

The box belonged to Marcus and Ulrike Mosse and their photos are in frames at back of the box.

There is a note inside that reads:

“The portraits are Marcus and Ulrike Mosse. The house is said to be their house in Graetz, Posnan (formerly in Prussia) This came to me from the estate of my aunt Else Litthauer- Ernst Litthauer.”

It’s a wonderful item in great condition. Could do with a little polish.
