This vintage (labeled 1924) Soroban has been used for counting - adding and subtracting. It is well marked with inscribed notations on the front and painted marking on the back. There is a wooden dovetail "key" remaining, to secure the back (along with nailing to keep it square). The concept is quite simple, but takes practice for proficiency. You'll probably notice that the maker pegged the center rail and corners for solidarity. The patina makes this a handsome relic of a bygone era. Size is about 4 5/16 x 13 1/16" in length. It works and is in very good condition.
