Bristol Glass Vase Botanical with Berries 19th CenturyBristol Glass Vase Botanical with Berries 19th CenturyBristol Glass Vase Botanical with Berries 19th CenturyBristol Glass Vase Botanical with Berries 19th Century

This is a Bristol type glass vase in a clam-broth color. The sunlight has lightened the image, somewhat. The color is more of a beige, not grey. The translucent color is opalescent, when held to the light. The hand painted botanical/berries motif has been decorated with gold. The gold banding and base decor have survived, to a limited extent. The base has a ground (not polished) pontil mark and has a fired marking of a part number or price. I can't say, with any certainty, that this was made in Bristol, England. Height is about 7 3/8", with a 3" diameter base. There are NO chips, cracks, or scratches. There is the expected light base rubbing marks. It is quite nice and a welcome addition to your collection.
