Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Match Safe, Early F. S. Gilbert

For your consideration is our lovely art nouveau sterling silver match safe or Vesta by F. S. Gilbert silversmiths, an American company (see Hallmark in photo). We don't often see them with flowers. These appear to be stylized lilies. Top snaps open and closed securely. It has a striker on the bottom and is engraved on one side with initials, 'TSM'. One side has a stationary loop attached which indicates it could have been used on a chatelaine. This piece is in very fine condition. What a lovely floral addition to any match safe collection!
