Original oil on canvas representing a bunch of roses in a vase. The painting dates from the 1950s and is a typical representation of the Belgium school. The painting is signed on the lower left side "A. Dehondt". Very beautifully executed, the painting shows the work of a skilled painter and suits as a wonderful piece of decoration.
These roses are painted in a pseudo-realistic manner, and their balanced composition gives them a very strong presence, with dominating sweet colors. There are a few drops of water on some of them, reminding the habit the Dutch painters had during the XVIIth century, to show their skillfulness.
After the acquisition, both the painting as well as the frame were restored by professionals to give the painting it's original appearance.
