19th Century French Dore Bronze-Collard Cut Crystal Spirit Decanter w/Faceted Ball Stopper
Ca. 1830 - 1840 ▪ France

High quality, luxury and function at its best describes this handsome spirit or whiskey decanter. The wonderful clarity of the hand-blown glass will show off your beverage of choice, and the deep sharp vertical & box cuts refract the light beautifully. Heavy starburst cut base. The original crystal ball stopper has the same box cuts, a ground stem that fits snuggly and appropriately to preserve its contents. The French gilt dore bronze lip and collar is masterfully engraved with laurel and small bead bands. Heavy, but well weighted for pouring. It likely had a paper label and is unsigned, but attributed to Baccarat and extremely hard to find. A rare estate piece.

This striking piece will shine on a vintage or contemporary bar, singularly on a tray for entertaining, displayed, or as the ultimate gift of luxury for a discerning gentleman.

* CONDITION: Very good to excellent with only a few minor surface scratches -- most likely from jewelry -- but nothing obvious. A tiny bubble can be seen in the stopper. Minor scratches and loss to the gilt collar are also commensurate with normal use and age. No chips, cracks or cloudiness. Shows beautifully. Photos are provided as additional descriptors.
