Stunning and elegant French early (ca 1925) Art Deco table lamp with art glass (Pâte de verre) dome shade.
The wrought iron base is finely decorated with Ginkgo Biloba leaves, a very sought-after type of decoration for these lamps.
Ginkgo leaves were very popular with Art Nouveau/Deco artists. They were charmed by the shape of its leaf, its feminine way of growing and its exotic character. Ginkgo leaves come from the Japanese Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba).
The cone shaped hand-blown dome is yellow/green and subtly marbled/textured with no cracks or chips.
The lamp is in very good condition and comes newly wired with cloth covered twisted cord.
It holds the original French B22 bayonet socket.
