This lovely antique silver niello with rose gilt chain weighs a bit more than most. It bears the silver purity mark, “800” and the maker's mark but are both a bit unclear due to age.
This niello chain is adorned in black metalwork on every other link, with two rose gold gilt links set in between. It's easily adjusted to be wearable as a necklace or a few rounds as a bracelet.
Besides the normal wear, the overall condition is impressive, considering it is over 100 years old. There is normal wear to this chain, surface scratches, and the rose gold plating on the links are on the light side, but this does not spoil the integrity or beauty of this chain. All together, it is in great shape with both clasps functioning well. The last photo shows this chain right next to a 9ct rose gold and 9ct yellow gold ring, for you to see that it is definitely on the rosy side of the spectrum.
There are no damages or repairs to this chain. This must have been adored and cherished, despite being over 100 years old, it is in great condition! There are some patina and has not been professionally cleaned. I leave this up to the new owner. I have only gently wiped with soft jewelry cleaning cloth.
