Lots of pretty flowers painted in a loose and flowing way cover this tray This lovely antique tray is large: it is 26" long and 18-1/4" wide.
It is a true 19th C piece with all the scratches and nicks in the paint one would expect from a utilitarian 130 year old tray. I am always suspicious of the perfect "antique" tole trays being offered for sale. I figure if they are "perfect", then they have been either repainted, or aren't old.
This heavy tray weighs about 3-1/2 pounds. The edges are rolled, and it has two cut-out handles. There are splits in two of the "coffin" corners on the left hand side. I've tried to show these in the photos. The tray is stable, and still useful.
And, if you'd like to hang it on the wall, some previous owner attached a wire from handle to handle at the back.
