This gorgeous, large supper set section measures 14" at the base, and 5" at the top. The blue & white printed pattern is Forest-Landscape II. It dates c 1800.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. It rings when tapped (as well as earthenware ever rings). There are some light brown lines in one corner. They cannot be felt with a fingernail, so are strictly superficial.

It carries the blue painted Spode workman's mark of a tiny "H". Robert Copeland identifies this as a Spode mark in page 167 of this book, "Spode's Willow Pattern and other designs after the Chinese".

I have seen supper set segments used to great effect in wall displays of blue and white plates. They break the monotony of all those round shapes!

Please note that I have a 2nd part of this supper set available in my shop.
