This attractive 10-3/8" soup plate has an underglaze cobalt blue pattern with overglazed pink flowers, orange flowers, and gilding. It was likely made in Staffordshire c. 1820-1850.
On the back the pattern name NONPAREIL is shown, and the pattern number 2/7729 is handpainted in red. The numbers 3-6 are impressed. One guess for the maker would be Ridgway.
The piece has no chips or cracks, but there is heavy overall crazing. The gilt enamel has worn off in a few places on the edge. It displays nicely.
