This beautiful antique cloisonne 2-part buckle would be easy to wear...the background is black, and the multi-colored design of butterflies and flowers would go with many outfits.
This type of buckle is shown in Lillian Baker's book, "100 Years of Collectible Jewelry" in plate 34, row 5, #4. She dates them circa 1897 and calls them "rare".
This buckle is about 3" wide and 2" high. It is in perfect condition. It is unmarked, but I have seen a few of these over the last 30 years, and they have all been of Japanese cloisonne.
