This attractive 19th C Chinoiserie plate was done in underglaze blue and hand painted enamels. It is 9-1/4" in diameter.
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no repairs. It has a good "ring" to it. There is one tiny glaze skip on the edge which I had to examine with my 10x loupe. There is wear to the lustre on the edge of the plate.
Impressed "New Stone", BB and 01. With the Minton date mark for 1856. Also in a blue cartouche No., and handwritten in red 105(?) . (It should be 1052. This pattern can be seen on-line in the Cumming Ceramic Study Collection.)
