This attractive 10-1/2" dinner plate was made by Hicks, Meigh & Johnson of Shelton, Staffordshire about 1835. The company was in business between 1822-1835. According to Angela Grant of the excellent website "The Ridgway Pattern Book", this pattern (128),was the last pattern issued by HMJ. This plate is in their 'Bedford' shape. You can see an example under the website's heading "Broad Street Works ".
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, and no repairs. It rings when tapped. There are a few scratch marks to the heavily enameled "Key Border". It's marked on the back with a crown, the words "STONE CHINA", and the hand-painted pattern number 128. FREE SHIPPING!

Note: My lighting turned everything PINK! The plate is quite white with strong colors.
