This gorgeous Sèvres style porcelain box has hand-painted mythological scenes on the top and three sides, and an interior with hand-painted flowers. The central painting is artist-signed "Henry". This box is decorated with heavily raised and tooled gilding, an expensive process. It has gilt-metal mounts.

The box is about 8-1/2" long, 4-3/4" wide, and 4-1/4" high. It is in excellent condition, there are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. There is some slight wear to the raised gold, and the gilding of the metal fittings.

The spurious mark on the base is "M. Imp de Sevres"; in red overglaze.

I believe this box dates late 19th C.
