Gorgeous and rare, this early Longwy Enameled Pottery Kerosene Lamp is decorated in the original "Persian" motif of 1875-1880, and is of that period. It is 11" high to the start of the vase's cap. It has the original brass cap and feet.
It was later fitted for electricity by a non-damaging side opening in the electrical works. The metal lamp font and pottery section have not been drilled. Of course, this makes the lamp much more usable today. However, for the purists out there: the font will hold kerosene. The burner would have to be replaced .
Condition? The only flaw I can find to the pottery is one chip near the lip. There is a photo of it below. The pottery is not signed.
