$195
Specialist Dealer in Early 19th Century English China
Specializing in Georgian Period Tablewares: Spode, Wedgwood, Coalport, Mason's, Worcester, Derby, Minton, Davenport, etc.
This magnificent early 19th C teapot is a "study piece" only. It was professionally repaired years ago, and now is suitable only for display.
Please scrutinize all the photos.
The teapot is as rare as it is beautiful. It is John Rose's pattern #793. That pattern may be seen decorating another teapot shape on page 84 of Michael Messenger's book "Coalport". He describes the pattern as "a design incorporating naturally coloured flowers within a deep cobalt blue ground embellished with gilt". The teapot shape can be seen on page 239, plate 1434 of the "Directory of British Teapots" by Berthoud & Maskell. Both books date this pattern c. 1820. This teapot has that pattern number on the base.
It's approximately 6-1/2" high, 10-3/4" long.
We also have available a matching tea cup and saucer, which are in excellent condition.
I guarantee the authenticity of all items I sell, and disclose any damage or restoration. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, or your money back! PayPal accepted. Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover accepted.
