This delightful teapot and stand (or trivet) was an early Art Deco design by Royal Doulton. The geometric, octagonal teapot and octagonal stand are decorated in the scarce black "Prunus" pattern. The fruit blossoms stand out from the black background, and the white and black lattice-work segments each of the 8 sides of the teapot.

The teapot is about 5" high and 9" long. It's in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. There is crazing to the base and the interior.

The trivet measures about 7" across. It is also in excellent condition. It has no cracks, no crazing, and no repairs. There are a few tiny glaze nicks to the black edge which can be felt more easily than seen.

The shape design is # D3832, which matches other Deco teapots made by Doulton. This design was introduced in 1912, at the birth of Art Deco, (between 1910 and 1914). The British Registry number on the base of each piece: 59778 for 1912.

The price shown is for teapot w/cover, and trivet (or stand).
