A pretty Antique 19th C Hand Painted Porcelain Pot-Pourri (Potpourri) Jar molded with swirls. It measures about 5-1/2" high (14 cm)

It has its original 2 covers: one pierced outer lid to allow the scent to escape, and one solid inner lid to keep the scent fresh. Lovely hand painted over-glaze enamel floral design. Very thin, translucent porcelain...it is amazing it has survived! Very few have, as a search of the internet will prove.

Condition? There is a slight nick to the neck of the jar, but no hairlines. It rings like a bell. The interior solid cover also has a slight chip, but still rings. The exterior pierced cover has a hairline crack, but no chips. It does not ring.

No marks on the base. Likely French or German.
