This pretty plate is 9/1/2". It was made about 1820 by John & William Ridgway of Cauldon Place, Staffordshire.
The blue outline print was hand painted with a flower basket center. There are flowers and three sprigs around the border.
The over-glaze enamel colors are blue, rose, purple, green, and black.
The plate is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. The only flaw I see are some worn bits of the green enamel on several of the leaves. See the central close up photo.
The pattern is Ridgway's #1092. It is marked with that pattern number, and "IRONSTONE CHINA", one of the "anonymous" marks mentioned by Geoffrey Godden in his book "Godden's Guide to Ironstone", and identified by K. Church.
You can see another example of this Ridgway pattern at the terrific "Ridgway Pattern Book" website in the UK.
Note: I have a second, matching plate available at lesser price, which is in "good" condition.
I guarantee the authenticity of all items I sell, and disclose any damage or restoration. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, or your money back! PayPal accepted. Visa/MasterCard/American Express/Discover accepted.
