Breakfast cups from the early 19th century are scarce. The extra large cup and saucer were special additions to tea sets, and were rarely available or ordered. The cup's diameter is 4-1/8" (10.5 cm). The saucer is 6-1/8" (15.5 cm) wide. The pattern is called "Royal Lily".
This fabulous set is marked with an incised "B" on both pieces, which dates it 1792-1807. The set is in excellent condition, with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There is some wear to the gilding of inner ring of the saucer, and to the reddish brown edge of the saucer. Both pieces ring when tapped.
I was not able to get a clear photo of the 2 incised B's.
