This striking Pitcher (or Jug) was made with the traditional pinch spout. It's about 7-1/2" high. It is hand painted with two ram's heads and a mythological creature which may be a dragon. It does not seem to be typical of 20th C majolica, as I have not found similar pieces in my research. It is marked "Made in Italy, and has other initials and numbers on the base.
Although supremely decorative, this vintage piece does have some damage. There is a firing crack on the base (done in the making), and another glazed over crack near the mouth. There is a chip on the side of the spout. I have tried to show you these faults in my photos.
